Chess clubs that meet on Fridays 4

Several clubs around Lisbon put chess on the Friday calendar, each in its own way. The Sintra chess club holds its weekly meeting on Friday nights and plays until close to midnight, and Grupo de Xadrez Alekhine in Avenidas Novas meets in the evening, with a beginners' group for adults the same day. The staff club of the energy company EDP, also in Avenidas Novas, plays on Friday afternoons.

The athletic club of Campo de Ourique has run a Friday session as well, but the district association marked it suspended for building works, so check before going. Whether a visitor can simply turn up is not always stated: Sintra does not say, and the EDP club's own page and the association disagree. A short message to the club settles it.
